Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in Asia.

We don’t have a record of having shown the programme you mention on BBC Knowledge in Asia, but if you could specify the channel you saw it on, we could look into it in more detail for you. However, if you saw it on BBC World News, unfortunately we can’t help with your enquiry, but you may instead prefer to contact them via http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-radio-and-tv-12957297.

I am watching BBC Knowlege from Singapore. I like to counter-check the title of Stargazing program shown here, which are; ep1: Mars. ep2: Earth, & ep3: Big Bang. I believe the content of those episode are not in line with the name. Could you help me to check? Furthermore the starts of your programs are about 1 minute earlier than the time shown on the cable TV box. This has happen starting from the second quarter last year, and have not been adjusted yet. Thank you!

BBC

Dear Yossidy,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in Asia.

We appreciate you taking the time to write to us about our programme information for BBC Knowledge. Regarding your query on Stargazing, we have checked our off-air recording and can confirm the broadcast was correct in sequential order of Episode 1 (Mars), Episode 2 (The Big Bang) and Episode 3 (Earth). However, unfortunately the synopsis information was not correct for all sources, so the detail explaining each episode may not have matched the programme you were watching. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused, and we can assure you that future airings will be corrected.

We also thank you for your comment about the start times of our programmes. It may be the case that some of our programmes might start slightly earlier than expected, and this as a result of varying programme durations throughout the day. If you are recording programmes we would recommend that, if possible, you set your recording device to start a few minutes in advance, and after the programme is due to end. We are constantly monitoring our services and audience feedback is extremely important to us, so thank you again for taking the time to write to us about these issues.

Best wishes,

I am most frustrated that you had in your Programme Upstairs Downstairs Series One, Episodes 1 - 3 for a couple of weeks and then discontinued the Programme seemingly with no further plan to schedule the rest of the Series. Would appreciate a clarification on this and hope to hear about your plan.

BBC

Dear Betty,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in Asia.

Three episodes of Upstairs Downstairs were produced for series 1 and we are sorry if you are disappointed with the length of this drama, or if it was not clear when this series was coming to an end.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to contact us with your feedback which we very much appreciate.

To Whom it may concenr,

in general, most of the series ( esp the crime thrillers ) have been repeatedly telecasted over and over again and some of which were being brougth around from the very old seasons. ( naming a few eg. "Wallander ", " Silent Witness " ) May i know what BBC Asia has anything new in store for the viewer in Ain 2013 ? The situation has not improved after the chrismas season and i hope that you can seriously review your existing program structure.

BBC

Dear Jason,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in Asia.

We are sorry to hear you are disappointed with our recent programming. Repeats form an important feature of our schedules, as we show content more than once for the benefit of new viewers who didn't see it the first time, and for regular viewers who either missed it originally or enjoy seeing the wealth of programming we have to offer more than once. We also introduce premiere content on a regular basis and are committed to bringing our viewers more and more premieres each month. We hope you'll enjoy our brand new series Friday Night Dinner, starting 16th March, the first series of comedy show Watson & Oliver, from 30th March, and the acclaimed Call The Midwife, which premieres on BBC Entertainment on 14th April. We thank you again for your feedback as our viewers' opinions are very valuable to us.

Dear Sir/Madam.

The Indian Ocean with Simon Reeve, a very good program. However I find amazing that he went from Bangladesh directly to Australia LEAVING OUT all of BURMA and THAILAND. These 2 to countries make up a considerable part of the land surrounding the Indian Ocean and without them the programme is incomplete Please explain this omission.

Yours Sincerely

James

BBC

Dear James,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in Asia.

It was very kind of you to let us know how much you enjoyed Indian Ocean with Simon Reeve. There is a very interesting and informative blog from Simon Reeve about this series which you should be able to access here

In this blog, Simon Reeve refers to your question regarding the countries visited in the series and how it was not possible to visit all the countries around the edge of the ocean We couldn't visit every country around the edge of the ocean and we certainly couldn't travel every mile of the coastline so we had to pick the best spots for filming based on the likelihood of us actually being able to tell a story, show an issue or see a stunning sight. It largely comes down to probability. The question we ask is how likely are we to be able to get to a place, see what we need to film to tell a story and then get out again without vast expense? The end result is TV with a blend of travel, current affairs, wildlife, history, culture, global issues, local concerns and of course, some weird food.” (BBC blogs, Simon Reeve, Indian Ocean).

We do hope you find this blog of interest.

Hi BBC,

I've heard that there's an Easter Saturday Special episode of Doctor Who that will air on March 30th in the UK and also in North America. I could not find the special listed for airing on BBC Entertainment Asia. May I know if the special will be screened in Asia? If it won't, why not?

BBC

Dear David,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide Channels in Asia.

We appreciate your interest in Doctor Who. Unfortunately we don’t have any current plans for this particular episode of Doctor Who on BBC Entertainment in Asia, but we appreciate your interest in the programme, and we do hope to show further episodes of Doctor Who in the future. Due to rights and availability issues, we are not always successful in securing to the rights to the programmes which our viewers request, but we do value feedback about popular titles. Meanwhile we hope you enjoy series 15 of Silent Witness, on BBC Entertainment from 13th March, as well as a new series Friday Night Dinner, from 16th March.

I'm uneasy with the Mitchell & Webb Look tonight opening with jokes about air balloon disasters with the tragedy in Egypt given the loss of life from Hong Kong and UK. You wouldnt dream of doing that in the UK market and its offensive you show it in Hong Kong

BBC

Dear Kevin,

Thank you for your message to BBC Worldwide channels in Asia.

We have noted your feedback that you felt it was inappropriate to broadcast this episode of That Mitchell And Webb Look in light of events in Egypt. Thank you for your feedback which is very valuable to us and we will therefore ensure that it is circulated to our senior management here at BBC Worldwide channels.
